City Introduces Digital Library in DPR Building

To attract people interest in reading through digital library, the Jakarta Library and Regional Archive (BPAD) participated in a book fair that take places on Wednesday (8/12) until Friday (8/14) in the House of Representatives (MPR/DPR) building. The BPAD will intensively socialize the advantage of digital library.

"We will keep socializing the digital library because lots of people do not understand or know about this system," told Head of Jakarta BPKAD, Tinia Budiati.

According to Budiati, the exhibition is held to welcome the 2015 MPR Meeting and Independence Day.

November, DIgital Library Launched

She added, such digital library has a lot of benefits. For example, it can save book printing and cheap cost maintenance, and book contents also guaranteed not to be broken by termites. Otherwise, it can easily be accessible and its maintenance also more practical and safe.

"We also hope the national figures, government agencies, private sectors and other parties to have the digital library," she disclosed.

As planned, the city administration to launch it in the same time of Word Literacy Day in the upcoming November.
